Bio - Tom Witschen


tommyVeteran Twin Cities sportscaster Tom Witschen is entering his 38th year of play-by-play. He has broadcast over 3,500 games for four colleges and universities and in 12 different high school conferences in three states over the years.  For 15 years, he was the Twin Cities Radio Voice of the Prep Bowl and State High School Hockey and Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments.

Bio - John Focke

Media_Day_PicJohn Focke joined the Minnesota Timberwolves Radio Network as producer and studio host before the start of the 2007-2008 season.

Prior to joining the Wolves, Focke was the voice of Northern Michigan University Hockey as well as the host of the University's football and basketball pregame, half-time and post game shows, in addition to providing color commentary for the games.

Bio - Matt Nelson

Matt_nels_TJ_picMatt Nelson began his broadcasting career in the fall of 2009 shortly after graduating from the University of Minnesota. Since then, he has brought his passion for sports to the broadcast booth. Last season, he worked play-by-play for Golden Gopher Men’s and Women’s Basketball as well as Volleyball for Bigtennetwork.com.

Bio - Dan Hamann

bio_picDan Hamann began his broadcasting career in his hometown of Benson, MN for KBMO radio while still in high school. In college, Dan was the primary play-by-play announcer for the St. Cloud State Huskies hockey team on KVSC radio. In his time at SCSU, Dan also called football, basketball, baseball, and softball on radio; and was a member of the original crew which started televising SCSU hockey locally and for Midwest Sports Channel.
